Interview with Catra Corbett @dirtdiva333, ultradistance runner

I really enjoyed interviewing Catra Corbett recently about her ultradistance experience. She really has quite the story from being a meth addict to getting clean and finding distance running. She was the first American women to complete 100 x 100 mile events and also holds the record for the Muir Trail 400 mile double.

If you missed it, you can catch it here. Some great take aways for me were.Mind over matter. Have a positive can-do outlook. You can do what you believe you can.Change your socks every 25 miles.Use compression socks (Lily Trotters are her favorite, mine too! Use the code RUNBLONDE to save).Another thing she suggested is doing back to back 20 milers when training for a 100 mile race as well as doing a lot of hiking in your training and learning how to use trekking poles.Use Pose running method. She also suggests adding 3 days a week of plyometics/weight training into training (stay tuned for a video I am making on this).Take "dirt naps" if you need to. Don't give up.You can muscle through. Mental state is very important. No excuses, you can do anything you set your mind to!Check out her book Reborn on the RunHappy Training,Coach LoraCore Strength video linkPlyometric video (link to come)
