Blonde Runner Athlete Update

I started my first workout today at 4:20 a.m.  Yes, when you are a Mom you have to get up and done with your workout before everyone wakes up.  It’s actually nice to have some “me” time before the “Mom” chant begins.  It isn’t always easy to discipline myself to get up early but I know if I do my day is usually more productive and I seem to be more efficient.  I also don’t have to stress about trying to fit it in since it’s done (or at least one of my workouts is done for the day).  And yes, if you get up early, that means you have to get to bed at a decent time.  Getting to sleep has always been a challenge for me; not only because my husband is a night owl, but because it seems like when my head hits the pillow my mind seems to go, and go.  I find that reading usually helps me “wind down.”  Even if you’re not a morning person I challenge you to give it a try just once a week and give your metabolism a jump start for the day.  Maybe it doesn’t have to be as early as 4:20 a.m. but just before you have to wear your other hats for the day.
