Health Tip: Safe medication disposal

NEVER flush prescription, or over the counter medications down the toilet or sink.  These drugs can enter the environment and poison our water and can even cause harm to  fish and other aquatic life.  Please take your medications to a permanent collection site or a special community take-back event.  A permanent site in my area is the Bountiful Police Department, 801-298-6000.  Davis County will also be offering a take-back event in April of 2013.  To learn more about how to properly dispose medications in your area visit http://www.useonlyasdirected.org/safe-disposal or call 1-800-458-0145.

Local Permanent Disposal:

BOUNTIFUL CITY
Bountiful Police Department
805 South Main Street
Bountiful, UT 84010

Hours: 24 hours/day

A list of other disposal sites can be found here:  http://useonlyasdirected.org/safe-disposal-drop-off-locator.  Medications can be dropped off anytime at these sites.
