Wasatch Back Insider: Road Kill

I “ran my butt off” in the Wasatch Back this weekend with a fun team of 12 people covering 188 miles running from Logan to Park City. We had a great time and it was fun to get to know the other girls in the vehicle (Stephanie, Laurie, Juliann, Lisa, Amy and our great driver Mara). This race is always a challenge since we run then sit and drive while supporting our runner and get very little sleep over the 35 plus hour event. For me, I tried to stay focused during my three different legs. My goal was to pass as many people as possible, which is also know as “road kill.” This helped me pushing myself during the runs and I am happy to report that I was able to pass 20 people on my first 3.5 mile leg. I passed 31 on my night leg of 7.7 miles and managed to pass 12 on the uphill Ragnar 4 mile climb for a total of 63 road kills. This race is so fun and festive – I loved it!
