Please Support the Miles For Melanie

I am contacted nearly every day by people putting on races that would like to have me involved to help them with it and/or promote it for them etc…but recently when I was contacted by Gail about a race she was involved with for her friend Melanie and I was touched by the story. Melanie is a mother of 6 that recently received a brain injury while riding in a bicycle race. No doubt it caught my attention because of the recent concussion I received at Nationals. But then it hit me as I have been struggling to recover from my accident I know that the added stress of putting on a race wouldn’t promote healing for my brain, so I decided to cancel my event and offer my help to their event. After all the purpose for me doing these charity events is to “give back”. What better way to give back then to help a small local race that could really use the help and help others help a friend that they care about. Please support the “Miles for Melanie” to be held at Chelsea Park in Layton on Sept. 15, 2012.
