As you might remember, last month I participated in the Oceanside 70.3 Ironman event.  It is always so enjoyable to get away from the cold of Northern Utah and enjoy warmer temperatures.  While I was there I was able to visit one of my long time friend and she invited me to be interviewed on her new podcast.  I was so excited to participate and talk about my triathlon experience.  My friend and her friend, both dietitians, started the Lettuce Explain podcast and cover great nutrition and fitness topics.  It can be found on iTunes, Stitcher Radio or Google Play.  I was interviewed for Episode 008 which was released today.  Here’s a link if you’d like to listen.  It was so much fun!

Spring Running Form Class

Come learn how to get started in triathlons and/or polish your skills.  Swim technique, cycling skills, running form, training tips and nutrition will be covered.  Come get all the answers to your questions in this lecture-style class to be held in the Bountiful area.  All triathlon distances will be covered. Yay! Women of Steel has moved back to American Fork!

Maybe is the “girl-power” or the great  boyfriends, brother’s, grandpa’s and Dad’s that get out and cheer for the women in their life.  The Women of Steel Triathlon was one of the first triathlons I did so it hold a special place in my heart.  I remember racking my bike on the metal racks and waiting in line for my turn to jump in the water.  I was nervous and excited all at the same time!  It was good competition and those ladies inspired me to do better and push harder.  Last year they moved it to a new venue but I am so glad it has been moved back to AF where I remember it being.  Join in the fun and save 10% using the code BLONDERUNNER10

Product Review: YogDev Yoga Wheel

I am a big fan of yoga! I think it’s really great for runners and I know it helps my muscles recover from workouts.  It’s something that I started integrating into my training some time ago and I believe one of the reasons I am able to function so well today.  I was thrilled to try out this new wheel I got from YogDev for my own home practice at home (my kids love it too).  It’s great because the wheel comes with this little card showing you how to use it doing the poses, it’s simple.

March Madness Half Marathon: First Place AG

IG post blonderunner 3.5.2016My last race was Ironman Maryland, then I took some time completely off running to see if I could get my knee to feel better. It looks like to rest has paid off as it felt pretty good today. I was pleased to start my racing season with a solid first place division win at a local half marathon today. It was a training race to dial in my numbers. It was fun to see so many friends today. Up next: Oceanside 70.3 in four weeks. The next Running Form Class will be held on Wednesday March 23, 2016, 6:30-7:30 p. in the Bountiful area. This is a one-time lecture style class designed to review common running form mistakes and give you direct feedback on your form. We will go over injury prevention and review drills and exercises to make you a faster, stronger and more efficient runner. Please dress to run – we will only be running a little bit to learn the drills and give you form feedback so it’s not rigorous. Beginners welcome.
