Come run to promote skin cancer awareness and prevention
EVENT DETAILS
The annual Save Your Skin 10K (6.2 miles) and 2 mile awareness walk will be held in the Davis County, Utah on Saturday September 15, 2012 starting at the West Bountiful Park, 550 West Pages Lane (1600 North). The park is just west of I-15.
REGISTRATION
Registration will be available online in the summer at active.com. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Skin Cancer Foundation and used for local prevention efforts.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Friday Sept. 14, 2012
4 – 6 p.m. packet pick-up in the Davis County area (more details to come)
Sat. Sept. 15, 2012
7:30 a.m. race day registration, check-in & timing chip pick-up for 10K participants
8:45 a.m. group warm-up (south end of the park on the lawn near the starting line)
9 a.m. 10K race start (make sure you have a timing chip on)
9:05 a.m. 2 mile awareness walk (no timing chips should be worn)
After the race – Awards at the park covered pavilion (approx. 11 a.m.)
FEES (prices go up after 9/8)
10K Race fee: $35
2 Mile Race fee: $25
Tech shirts and goody bags will be provided for pre-registered participants, so register early. Late registration and race day registration will be available but there is no guarantee of a shirt. We will have some extras but to be sure register before race day.
Registration is required for both the walk and run and participants will need to wear their numbers on the front of their shirts. The walk will be non-competitive and the run will be chip timed with prizes available three deep in each age category. Male and female age divisions. A group warm-up will be offered on the south end of the park on the lawn near the starting line. Both routes are out-and-back and refreshments will be provided to participants. All run and walk participants will be eligible for random prize drawings through out the event (must be present to win). No award or shirt mail out.
This is a family friendly event with a covered picnic tables under the pavilion and a playground for children. No pets please. There are a few sand volleyball courts and plenty of grass to play on. There will be music so come prepared to have fun with the whole family.
ROUTE MAPS
There will be a chip timed 10K and a non-timed 2 mile fun walk.
10K (6.2 miles) run route: flat out-and-back route (two aid stations will be provided) 
2 mile awareness walk (non-timed): the first mile of the 10K route – out-and-back.

TRAINING PROGRAM
A 10K coached training group will be offered for additional fees. If you are interested please indicate it on the registration form when you sign up for the race. You will be contacted with details.
