Blonde Runner Recap: 2013 In Review

buddy elf goodbye2013 copyIn 2013 I ….

Celebrated 18 years of marriage with my husband.  We have four beautiful children to show for it (plus one in heaven).

Went to Disneyland with the family.

Attended the ITU World Triathlon in San Diego and placed top-ten in my division.  Yeah!  It was my first ocean swim race and I had to take apart and reassemble my bike.  I am proud to say I had no extra parts left and it ran great.  I took my son and we have a fun time and stayed with a dear friend and her family.  Loved it!

I was able to relish in some of my kids personal accomplishments and victories.

I was hired by OC Tanner to work with their employees and train them for a half marathon.  Great group!

I organized the 4th annual event and saw an increase in numbers which was very exciting.

In 2013 I visited family in Ohio as well as raced in two more States that I can check off my 50-State goal list.  Ohio and Kentucky.  Learn more

Sadly my 18 year-old cat died.  It was a sad goodbye, but she was a cherished gift for many years.

Finally found a great way to display my medals to motivate me that I have hanging by my indoor bike.  Read my review

Read many great books.  I have posted reviews on many of them.

Met Sister Madonna (older triathlete legend) in person.

Received a business award (Best in Bountiful).

Experienced whole body cryotherapy at -265 degrees!  Brrrr  Read my review

Volunteered and cheered at the local rec center races (always!)

Developed some new and effective training methods for my future athletes.  Brace yourself 2014 athletes!

Met some goals (ie. Creating more content on my website, improve myself etc…)

…and so much more…

2013 was great!  Looking forward to an eventful 2014!

One of my goals for the New Year is to utilize more of my skills and talents.  So I have started a new group for those that are interested.

I love to work with my hands and make crafts, especially with food. I make chocolate suckers, gift baskets, artistic fruit and vegetable garnishes, paint landscapes and work with wood and Fimo clay (wood/fimo pens, beads etc). I would like to produce some sketches, sculptures and other art to sell. I love to get my family involved in my projects too.  My husband is especially good with wood and makes walking sticks, small furniture, handcrafted antler keychains/pens, custom vinyl stickers etc to sell. My son also has some great paracord projects.  Special orders welcome.  Message Coach Lora Erickson at
